Eligibility

Who Is Eligible for an SLAA Grant?

  • High-school students from a WELS South Atlantic District or ELS Circuit 1 congregation. The student must be enrolled full-time in a WELS-affiliated secondary education school. That student is eligible for a Tuition Assistance Grant.

  • Churches operating a Lutheran School in the WELS South Atlantic District and ELS Circuit 1. These churches may apply for an Education Grant to support their 6-12 grade Christian education programs. Education Grants can help fund projects such as: improved classroom furnishings, curriculum and other teaching tools, as well as facility and and technology improvements, etc.

  • Churches in the WELS South Atlantic District and ELS Circuit 1 which offer a program to assist adolescents in their spiritual development may apply for a Youth Ministry Grant. Youth ministry grants can be used in many different ways, for example: mission trips, Christian youth camps, tours of synodical schools, etc.
